christmas is coming up!
countdown 23 days
a really meaningful story..
I ran into a stranger as he passed by, "Oh excuse me please" was my reply. He said, "Please excuse me too; I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I. We went on our way and we said goodbye.
But at home a different story is told, How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal, My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down. "Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken. I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed, God's still small voice came to me and said, "While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use, but the family you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor, You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you. He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."
By this time, I felt very small, And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed; "Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?" He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you. I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."
I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today; I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days..?
But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?
(: the outcome up next!
Hey! how did you find my last entry? what a thrill eh?
anyway.. since then, what have you been doing for those who are having their holidays at the moment?
well, for me honestly i havnt been achieving much but its enjoying nevertheless. my standard daily cycle if i dont have any appointments would be something like waking up at 2pm in the afternoon, wash up and have my breakfast sometimes straight to lunch, and right straight to the computer for the next 3 hours! and then its time to get some exercise by heading over for my soccer game! reaching home around 7.30pm, cool off, dinner and guess what? yeah, back to the same box which i've starred at before i left the house and this time its all the way to 2am or 3! oops.. yeah thats quite crazy but it's become like a habbit which i've gotten used to.
anyway, these past few days all thats been keeping me occupied is counter strike! haha and i guess thats probably cause of my team that has been reformed not too long ago called FragMasters. hmm, this time only 2 members from the previous lineup remains and thats my good friend bennett and myself. but once again, im the leader of the team. so training sessions has been quite intensed whenever every teammate is online.. the bond between the team is pretty good i have to say. everyone has gel-ed together rather quickly and i can see that if we keep this bond up we'll make a successful team in the future. we've played quite a few decent teams over the past week or so and the team ability is there just need to work on the coordinations and planning. feel good about it..
when im not matching i'd usually be playing winning eleven, football manager or sometimes counter strike public servers. oh and guess what.. i played public servers today for like 3 to 4 hours! but of cause with a friend which i'vnt chatted with for quite a long time! and guess what.. its a SHE! hahaha. yeah, hmm i actually met her a year or two back in sgwargames server. and somehow i added her to my steam friends and we spoke there and on msn but she seldom came online after that.. anyway, we played in quite a number of servers today. i was owning man! crazily retarded frags and people asking me "hack mode on ah?" hahaha! cool man.
alrights, guess thats for today (:

and yes! finally after weeks im back to this thing called blogging. hmm i've finally got my lazy butt off the chair to bring you this post of Medical Check-Down!
okay, cause as male's in the country we're required to serve National Service. I received a letter from Mindef to go for a medical checkup and screening. Hey! but not to worry girls, i wont be entering NS so early, still will be able to go hang out and all. haha.. okay so i went down to mindef on the specified date and on time! surprisingly i wasnt late. usually i'd be late for this kinda stuff but i guess the reason i was early this time was because it was in the afternoon at 1pm! even then, i had a really hard time forcing myself up at 11.30am. its so unusual to wake up before 1pm for me cause of my nocturnal life habits. anyway, got up bathed, changed and headed down to the location. (my dad drove me)
so when we reached, we had to surrender our phones which had camera capabilities at the entrance booth. then proceeded to the infomation counter where i passed them the letter that they sent and the counter girl handed me a sheet of pink paper and asked me to go take my measurements. went to the measurements and used a measuring tape to get my head, waist, foot lengths. haha to my surprise my head was kinda huge! hahaa! cant remember the exact reading though. after taking walked back to the counter and was instructed to fill in the measurements on the online form.
that was done, and next was photo taking! i wasnt prepared for it cause it was not mentioned in the letter which they sent! haha, anyway when i entered the room i saw a middle age man sitting there with a stern look. i stood there looking and him and he just sat there looking at me, then he reached out for a packet and pulled out a shaver. told me "go shave your beard and moustache." i was like !!!! what the ?! i've been keeping my gotii for like a year? and now they dint mention it in their letter and expect me to shave. anyway, i did as told cus i'd be messing with the law if i refused to. so proceeded to the gents and got it shaved. was so sad while i was shaving that i took the tiny strands in my hand and started wishing them goodbye (in my head of cause). hahaha! took a pee and headed back to the photo room. this time round there was another middle age man there and i could immediately tell he was way more friendly than the previous as he look quite a fatherly man. he told me to wet the back and sideburns to hide them. so after some trouble of strands sticking out i managed to accomplish it. okay, so got the photo taken.
next was to the medical screening center. there was another counter there and they asked for the forms and stuff. and in return i got a clip board with a paper listing the stations that i had to proceed through. first up was the EYE Station. did the standard "kindergarden reliving" process of reading the alphabhets on the wall. and ive got this thing called markus gunn since birth but the people there dint understand what it was and the eye doctor went for lunch so they told me to proceed to the next staion then return later.
2nd station was the XRAY Station! haha it was fun man.. went into the room, the person told me to remove my shirt. then i said "bra also?" then he gave me a stare and laughed. so took the xray.. which i took longer than normal cus when taking xray you've to breathe in all the way. the person told me when i say breathe in, u breathe in as much as possible and hold there. so he went behind to the controls and said "OK BREATHE... BREATHE BREATHE BREATHE..." and then he kept quiet. for quite awhile. thinking he was still taking the xray.. WHAT THE! i was desperately running out of air. so i controlled and held my breath for a little longer and let it out. i bet my face was turning blue man. then he said "OK, take again. BREATHE BREATHE BREATHE.." wahhh again after he say that he dint say anything after that and i held my breath for like quite awhile and it was tiring cus i had to lean against the machine. then he came over and say "ok can already". so i turned round and he looked at me and ask "eh why ur face so purple" i said i running out of breah! he say huh.. i nv ask you hold your breathe so long.. !!!!!!! then he said you dont have to hold your breath once i took the xray. i thought "then u never say zz"
anyway, after that i went back to the EYE Station but the doctor was not back from his lunch yet. so they sent me to the URINE and BLOOD Station. the person told me to take a small slip of paper and a green container and instructed me to go take my urine. so i went into the toilet and tried to urine.. but i remembered, i just did before i entered the medical screening center! hahahahahahahah!! so i was like WHAT THE @#$@! how the hell can i do it when i just did! alamak! so i stood there for quite awhile but just could'nt so i decided to tell them to do it later. haha felt a bit malu. so they told me to sit down there, then took my middle finger and used a small clipper which looked harmless and drew some blood from the tip of my finger.
wooh! i dint feel it man cause the needle was so thin.. i thought that was the end of the blood taking. but, it was not! he pointed to the room behind and said ok go in. so i went in and i realised that was the real blood taking. the doctor was quite an elderly skinny man. he pulled out a big big scringe and asked me to stretch out my hand. he started slapping my hand damn hard twice to get the veins out. ouch! but anyway i did as told, and i also looked out of the window so as to try relief the pain if there was any. in less than a few seconds he drew the blood and yeah i could feel a lil of the pain but it wasnt as bad as i expected.
right, 3 stations down, 2 more to go! the JAW Station and finally the Final Station.
the jaw check was nothing much, just stand at a spot marked X and let the panels around hover around your head and thats it. yeah, okay then the final station. it included Height and Weight and the heart check where they see if your breathing pattern is normal. everyone in there had to remove their shirt as to take the breath pattern so i saw some pretty big bellys spilling over their pants. hahaha! anyway, after those 2 was the last room which the doctor will give you the PES which u'll be catogerised into. AND it was also the CHECK DOWN. *wink you know what im talking about..
that was the last of the medical screening! now to the IQ test, so went to the counter but the person told me.. we're closing. come back another day either this or next month to do the IQ test and gave me a form and pointed out the number to call before going. ZZZ what a waste of time.. will have to make another trip there some other day to get my test done.
anyway, that was my episode of the Medical and Screening Exercise! (:
stay tunned for more blog entries.
Okay, since i'vent been posting much this month or rather none at all. i shall blog a joke just to keep you all readers entertained (:
Three ducks were swimming in a pond after midnight and were arrested for trespassing. The next morning, they were called to appear in court. The judge called in duck number one and said, "What where you doing in the pond after midnight?"
"I was blowing bubbles." The judge then called in duck number two and asked him the same question. "Judge, I was blowing bubbles." He then called in duck number three and said, "So let me quess — you were blowing bubbles too?" "No, I'm Bubbles."
